Swan Lake State Park Details
Swan Lake State Park is a small 67-acre recreation area on the north shore of Swan Lake, the largest lake in the area at 1,364 acres. Drained off by a small dam into the Goose River, the lake is well-known as a scenic spot to enjoy waterside recreation. Fishing here is quite popular with multiple well-stocked species of freshwater fish including, brook trout, wild togue, perch, bass, and salmon. Originally known for quarrying, the town of Swanville has gone through many names including "Plantation of Swan" and "Swan's Tract." Ironically this has nothing to do with swans.
