Scarborough Beach State Park Details
On the southeastern coast of Maine sits Scarborough, a coastal resort town, and one of the fastest-growing communities for families. Scarborough Beach State Park is just one such amenity that makes this area so popular. Though only occupying a small spot on the Atlantic shore, the beach here is often considered "the best" swimming around. Due to its location, the temperatures in late summer can bring the water up to the 60s. Though popular for boarding and other activities as well, the warm water lovers flock here in the summertime to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere the park has to offer. This beach is not without controversy. Access to the beach is managed by a private company, therefore, Maine State Park annual passes are not accepted so all visitors must pay a fee.
