Penobscot Bay in south-central Maine is often said to be one of the top cruising bays in the world. Multiple workings ports and recreational areas are located here, including Fort Point State Park. At only 156 acres, the smaller sized park is well-known for hiking, fishing, and its historical features, the ruins of Fort Pownall and the Fort Point Light. Having served the bay since 1835, the current lighthouse station is listed on the historical register and dates to 1857. Facilities: Picnic Area, Parking, Grill, Restrooms, Floating Dock
