Still a popular working transport road, the 78 mile Old Canada Road (Route 2001) Scenic Byway connects the lumber trade between Canada and the United States. Having been a popular trading trail since the early Abenaki tribe, the rivers here have been used since the Revolutionary War for lumber transport. Most who visit this route today come to enjoy the pristine wilderness views, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor recreation and water sports that the region has to offer.
