The Pequawket Trail Scenic Byway in western Maine is the perfect route to take for solo travelers and families alike. Passing through the White Mountains National Forest and visiting the Saco River, 60-mile byway provides magnificent views of Maine. The real draw here though is the small towns scattered throughout the region. Being an area of early settlement, most stops will be of some significance and leave visitors with a history lesson.
