Most of the scenery along Grafton Notch Scenic Byway is made up of forest, riverside, and old farmland walls and ruins. Though the route is only a total of 21 miles, most visitors tend to stay longer to sightsee or visit one of the many hiking trails or picnic areas along the way. Being a peaceful forested drive, the focal point is about halfway along the route when travelers get to drive through the beautiful Mahoosuc Mountains of the park's namesake, the Grafton Notch.
