Chinle Trail Details
The trail leads through a number of various sandy washes in the drainage of the Virgin River, remaining fairly level as it crosses a few rolling hills and small streams. After traversing a small pine and fir forest the trail begins to skirt the edge of Scoggins Wash, paralleling the northern side of Zion Canyon before reaching Coalpits Wash and eventually petering out somewhere in the middle of the wash. Although this trail is not the most spectacular of Zion National Park trails, it does offer an interesting desert experience removed from the busy activity in the park, as well as some decent views of the surrounding peaks.
