Observation Point Trail Details

Beginning near Weeping Rocks, this difficult trail follows the east wall of Zion Canyon to the deep, narrow splice that is Echo Canyon, and then continues through slickrock toward a thin peninsula that overlooks Zion Canyon. Although the majority of the trail is moderately difficult, and contains only a few very steep ascents, the section of slickrock beyond Echo Canyon can prove quite strenuous, and is often very wet, muddy, and rough. The point provides some of the best views of the surrounding peaks, including Castle Dome, the Three Patriarchs, Great White Throne, and the Watchman.
