North Rim Drive Details

The one-way North Rim Drive takes you to the aptly-named Brink of Lower Falls Trail and then on to the overlooks at Lookout Point and Red Rock Point. The North Rim hiking trail roughly parallels the road. Lookout is a good spot for spying ospreys soaring over the canyon, while Red Rock has a trail takes you close enough to Lower Falls to feel the spray. Continue on to Grand View for a sweeping overview of both the canyon and river. A short segment of two-way road leads to Glacial Boulder, a chunk of the distant Beartooth Plateau deposited here during the last Ice Age, and to Inspiration Point, where 50 steps will take you to yet another canyon viewpoint.
