Once an arm of Lake Yellowstone, the Hayden Valley is sort of the Main Street for Yellowstone's wildlife. Bison, elk, and grizzly bears are just a few of the animals and birds you may see in the broad valley of the Yellowstone River. The only access to the valley is on the Grand Loop or a pair of hiking trails: the Hayden Valley Trail and the Mary Mountain Trail.
