Lamar River Details
The Lamar River flows for about 40 miles through the Lamar Valley in the northeastern corner of Yellowstone National Park. It is popular for fly-fishing and also a popular spot for viewing wildlife, including Yellowstone's wolf packs and grizzly bears. The Lamar River is the largest tributary of the Yellowstone River. You can easily hike down to the riverside from many points along the Northeast Entrance Road to Yellowstone.
