Gibbons River Details
Like the Madison River, Gibbons River is a popular fly-fishing destination. The river starts at Grebe's Lake in the center of the park and runs through the Gibbon River Canyon before merging with the Firehole River to form the Madison River. The scenic Gibbons Falls mark the spot where the river plunges over the northern edge of the Yellowstone caldera, about midway between Norris Geyser Basin and Madison Junction.
