Overview
A mudpot is just what it sounds like: a pool of bubbling mud formed when modest amounts of heated water comes in contact with soil containing fine particles, such as volcanic ash or clay. The mix of the hot water and soil forms bubbling surface pools of viscous grey mud, which can occasionally had mini mud eruptions of up to five feet high.
