Mouse Creek Falls Details
These 40-foot falls are located near the end of an easily traveled, gravel trail that was once an old logging railroad grade. After passing Midnight Hole, a small, 6-foot cascade smashed between enormous boulders that form a stunning, deep plunge pool, Mouse Creek joins Big Creek and spills over moss-covered vertical rock faces. The falls are two-tiered, shaded by tall hemlocks, and are home to tons of small wildflowers in the early spring, lending to the area's enchantment. Access the falls via Big Creek Trail; the falls are located on a short side trail 2.1 miles from the Big Creek Trail trailhead. Trailhead: Exit I-40 at Waterville Road (#451). Turn left after crossing the Pigeon River and proceed 2.3 miles to an intersection. Continue straight, past the ranger station, to a large parking area at road's end
