Oconaluftee River Trail Details
Connecting Oconaluftee Visitor Center to the edge of Cherokee, North Carolina, this short trail is an excellent way to access the Oconaluftee area of the park. The gravel path, which is often a high-traffic trail, rolls gently along the side of the Oconaluftee River, and is open to leashed pets and bicycles. There are a number of pretty scenic views of the river and surrounding hemlock and oak forests along the trail, and the area is well known for its stunning display of wild asters in the fall.
