The Gatlinburg Trail is an incredibly easy and accessible way of walking from the city of Gatlinburg, Tennessee to the park system. Remaining relatively flat throughout its duration, this forest path follows the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River, occasionally crossing it via footbridge. A few crumbling remains of home site foundations and chimneys are visible from the trail way, and there are some excellent views of the river and the wild habitats it supports.
