Yaki Point Details

The flat-topped wooded butte you see before you is called Wotan's Throne, a popular subject for artists and photographers and a challenging test for rock climbers. The butte is named for the Germanic version of the Norse god Odin. Other peaks on the horizon with classical names include the Zoroaster Temple and Brama Temple. You can see Clear Creek Canyon and Cremation Creek to the east, and Yaki Point is one of the few spots where you can see portions of all three major trails into the Grand Canyon. Look west for the South Kaibab Trail, which runs along Cedar Ridge and O'Neill Butte, the end of Bright Angel Trail, and a segment of the Tonto Trail.
