Cape Final Details
Considered the best Grand Canyon overlook on the North Rim, Cape Final offers nearly unobstructed views of a large sweep of buttes, cliffs, mesas, and ravines. The two-mile Cape Final Trail leads to the overlook standing 7,916 above sea level, and the lack of parking close to the overlook helps ensure that you won't be sharing the vista with big crowds. Sunrises here are extraordinary. To the north you can see Lava Creek, while in the immediate foreground lies Juno Temple, Jupiter Temple, Freya Castle, and Unkar Creek running down its eponymous canyon. Further distant are the Desert Facade and Palisades of the Desert escarpments, bisected by the gorge of the Little Colorado River.
