Navajo Point Details

The highest natural point on the south rim at 7,498 feet above sea level, Navajo Point gives you a nice view of the Colorado River at the floor of the Grand Canyon as well as such features as Cadenas Butte and Wotans Throne. This may be the spot where Spanish explorers first viewed the canyon in 1540. You can see the Tanner Trail as it snakes along the buttes to intersect with the river. Several miles of the Colorado are visible from here, including several sets of rapids.
