Hopi House Details
This example of the famous "parkitechture" of Mary Colter was modeled after the Hopi dwelling at Oraibi, Arizona, and was originally intended as a venue where Native Americans could live, work, and sell their handicrafts. You can still find authentic native crafts like Navajo rugs and pueblo pottery at this historic curio shop, which was built by Hopi craftsmen using traditional methods and materials and opened in 1905. The upstairs Fred Harvey Gallery sells museum-quality items.
