Grand Canyon Village
The Grand Canyon Village is located directly on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and is the center for most park information, lodging, and dining. It's also a major tourist attraction in its own right. The Village is home to Grand Canyon National Park Headquarters, parking facilities, the depot for the Grand Canyon Railway, all South Rim hotels, and Mather Campground. South Rim bus tours depart here, or you can set out on foot along the Rim Trail for unparalleled views of the canyon. Serious hikers can access the Bright Angel Trail for an arduous but unforgettable journey into the canyon itself. If you only have a short time to visit Grand Canyon National Park, the Village should be your destination. You can get your bearings at the park headquarters, hike the Rim Trail, visit museums and shops, and enjoy a canyon-side meal, all within a few hours' time.
