Visiting Banff National Park is well-worth the time it takes to get there. If flying, the Town of Banff is 401 kilometers (about 250 miles) southwest of Edmonton, or 128 kilometers (80 miles) west of Calgary, and 850 kilometers (500 miles) northeast of Vancouver. The best highways to take to get to the park include the Trans-Canada Highway, which runs west from Calgary into the park and through to Vancouver; and the Icefields Parkway, which runs between Lake Louise and Jasper Townsite to the north of the park, which then connects to Highway 16 that leads to Edmonton.
