Frigid Crags, along with Boreal Mountain, forms the Gates of the Arctic. Located within Alaska’s arctic circle, Frigid Crags is well known to mountain climbers as one of the area's to-do peaks. It also offers a dramatic backdrop for wilderness campers. There are no services. The valley below Frigid Crags is incredibly lush, with lots of flat space along the river for camping, hiking and bird watching. In fact the only way to get here is by plane or boat. Hiring a local packing outfit is the best way to see this unique place.
