Wilderness Information Center Details

The Wilderness Information Center, just west of Marblemount, Wash., is the primary permit office for backcountry expeditions. It also houses a variety of exhibits and resources for planning camping, hiking, and boating trips into the North Cascades' vast backcountry. The center is open daily from May to October, but backcountry permits are required year-round. When the station is closed, backcountry permits are available from a self-issue station. Free maps and information are available for visitors, and there are useful books and maps available for purchase. Accessible restrooms and parking are available.
