Passage Island Light House

Passage Island Lighthouse is located very close to the Canadian border and was put in place because a very popular route to and from a silver mine ran by there. Established in 1882, the lighthouse was in full use until 1996 when the government deemed it "surplus" and handed it over to the National Park Service to be a place for guests to come learn about the history of the area and see the beautiful house to imagine the life of one of the many keepers. To access the lighthouse, you have to take a boat out from Rock Harbor, where excursions are scheduled in advance.
