The Houghton Visitor Center is your year-round place for information on Isle Royale. You can pay entrance fees, get boat registrations and shop in the book store at the visitor center. There are also some cultural and natural exhibits on display. The Houghton Visitor Center is open year-round with hours from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. from June to mid-September and then from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. from mid-September to May.
