Mount Igikpak Details

Mount Igikpak is one of the most popular climbing spots in the park. Part of the Brooks Range, it's the tallest peak in Gates of the Arctic with a summit of approximately 8,510 feet. To access this mountain, fly from Bettles to the Noatak River headwaters then hike from there to the base. This remote, technical climb is not for the beginner. With a difficulty level of 5.9, the peak is suited to traditional crack climbing, sport climbing, top rope and ice climbing.
