Only one area in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is open to horses or pack animals: Deadhorse Trail on the North Rim. This five-mile round-trip trail leads to the canyon rim, and is quite lovely. There are no facilities for horses or pack animals, and horses are only allowed in the North Rim Campground or on North Rim Road (during trailer transport).
