The park provides ample fishing opportunities in its lakes and rivers, and actually has some of the most pristine fishing waters in the entire National Park system. The fishing season runs from May through October, with the most popular months being July and August during the annual salmon run. In the wintertime, ice fishing is popular on the park's lakes.
