Bay of Islands Details
Bay of Islands is a small cluster of islands near the northeastern shore of Lake Naknek's North Arm. Although many paddlers pass through here on the Savonoski Loop, the bay is a worthy destination of its own, with snowcapped volcanic peaks towering in the background and reflecting in the smooth, glassy water of the protected inlet. Fure's Cabin is located on the shore in this section of the lake, making it a great destination for a short backcountry trip. The route to the Bay of Islands is twenty miles from Brooks Camps, and takes two to three days each way.
