Islesford Historical Museum Details
The exhibit at the museum provides insight into the challenging work and many rewards of lobster fishing in Downeast Maine. Visitors can step on board the stern of a lobster boat and handle the tools used daily by fishermen. You can watch a video starring local lobstermen answering questions about their trade and view boat models, paintings, buoys, and hooked rugs created by fishermen and their families. Visit Islesford via mail boat, private boat, ranger-led tour boat, or water taxi. The museum is open daily from June 15 through September 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
