Learn About the Park
Wildlife abounds at Mesa Verde National Park. Mule deer and wild turkeys are everywhere, so you'll be sure to see some of those. Keep your eyes peeled at dawn and dusk for coyote, bobcat, a rare black bear, cottontail rabbits, maybe even a jackrabbit, collared lizards, spotted owls, and watch out for the prairie rattler! Mesa Verde National Park has also been named an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society, so birders rejoice.
