Lost Creek Trail Details
This trail begins just past where the Nabesna Road crosses Lost Creek, at mile 31.2. There is a small parking area here. Follow the trail into the forest and out onto a wide creek bed. The trail becomes indistinguishable from this point on. You will need to cross the creek several times, but the creekbed is an easy place to travel. The valley will start to become narrower before coming to an impassable ravine; find a route up the west side of the valley before you reach this point. After the ravines, it is probably easiest to hike along the creekbed. However, there is no established trail so navigation is important. The tundra is spectacular as you get towards the top of the pas and allows for lots of exploration into side drainages. You can retrace your steps the 10 miles back out to the trailhead or head down the other side of the pass and link up with the Trail Creek Trail for a 2-3 day trip. Again, route-finding is necessary and no established trail reaches the pass from either side.
