A primitive camping experience can be found on Garden Key Island. Park camping is confined to Garden Key Campground. While there is no plumbing or running water available, composting toilets are available. Campers should bring all basic essentials including water (two gallons per day per person), food (stored in hard containers), shelter, bedding, medication, a first aid kit, a flashlight and a knife. Grills and picnic tables are provided at the campground so be sure to bring self-igniting charcoal and matches for cooking. Please note that lighter fuel can not be brought on board the ferry. Don't forget trash bags and biodegradable soap. All trash must be removed from the park. The campground is a self-service fee area so if you plan to camp, head straight for the campground upon landing on Garden Key to reserve your spot. The nightly fee is $15 per campsite. Bring the correct amount in cash. Keep your stub at your campsite as proof of payment - rangers conduct inspections.
