As most of Dry Tortugas is composed of water, there are many opportunities for swimming at the park. Some visitors hop into the water as soon as the ferry lands on Garden Key. Others paddle their kayaks to Loggerhead Key and swim there. Swimming areas on Garden Key are accessible from North Beach and South Beach. Kids will love swimming here thanks to a gradual slope and easy entry. The swimming area on Loggerhead Key is accessible from the northwest side of the island. The area features calm, shallow waters. You'll find Little Africa, a coral formation in the shape of the continent, just a few yards from the swim beach.
