There are more than 80 miles of hiking trails in the park. With desert, canyons, streams and mountains, there is truly something for everybody, from a half hour easy loop to a moderate half-day hike to a committing all-day excursion. Fall is the best time to hike in the Guadalupe Mountains, due to the cooler temperatures and beautiful fall foliage. In the desert, you can also take advantage of wildflower season, which happens in the spring. Just remember: the forests here aren't very thick, and shade can be hard to come by. Bring plenty of sunscreen and water! See the "hiking" section of this app for more detailed information on specific hiking trails.
