Last Chance Trail Details
This trail runs from the end of Enderts Beach Road (on its north end) to Highway 101 mile marker 15.6 (at its south end). Bikes are allowed on the trail, but not on the beach. This 6.5-mile section of the California Coastal Trail has steep grades and starts out quite strenuous, although it levels out on the old coast highway road. It provides access to the Nickel Creek primitive campground, where backcountry camping is permitted, located about a half-mile from the northern trailhead. At the southern trailhead, you'll find the intersection with the Damnation Creek Trail.
