Mill Creek Trail Details

The Mill Creek Trail is open to hiking and horseback riding. The trail begins at a marked trailhead on Bertsch Avenue off the west end of Howland Hill Road. It follows the creek before ascending a ridge, using switchbacks to gain elevation. There are numerous stream crossings along the trail, which passes through previously logged forests of alder and second-growth redwoods. One you reach the top of the ridge, check out the views of Crescent City and Crescent Beach. Parts of this trail are closed in winter to protect the spawning grounds of coho and Chinook salmon.
