Yucca Canyon Trail Details
This moderate trail wanders three miles through Yucca Canyon and up a ridge to gain views of the Yucca Basin and Big Canyon. The trailhead is on a side road off of Highway 418, just before the road reaches the parking lot for Slaughter Canyon Cave. A jeep road leads west along the park boundary fence until you come to the Yucca Canyon Trailhead (this road is rutted and requires a high clearance, four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle). The entire trail is 7.5 miles round trip, though once you've gained the top of the plateau there is an option to continue on a less-maintained trail that drops into Big Canyon. The maintained part of the trail gains 1,520 feet in elevation.
