Scorpion Canyon Loop Trail Details
Avoid a steep climb by beginning the Scorpion Canyon Loop clockwise on Smugglers Road from the pier at Scorpion Beach, walking towards the oil well. Make your way down into Scorpion Canyon and back out again along the beach. This interior loop trail offers a terrific chance to see the island scrub jay, one of the native birds of the Channel Islands. If you want to try and spot the birds, and are a bit adventurous, hike off the trail to the right (northwest) at the fork of Scorpion Canyon; be prepared for rocky terrain.
