Activities

The Fjord Junior Ranger Walk is offered Sundays from June to August (check for specific start and end dates, which vary by year). This guided walk lasts 1.5 hours and starts from the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center at 2 p.m. The walk leads to the Seward waterfront, focusing on the fjord ecosystem of Resurrection Bay, and follows the rocky coastline near town. It also offers a chance to earn a Junior Fjord Ranger Patch. This program is best suited for ages 8-12, with at least one accompanying adult. Wear good shoes. Kids can also pick up a Junior Ranger Adventure Guide from the visitor center, any ranger in the park, or on a park boat tour. Once you complete the required activities for your age, turn it in to a ranger to earn your Kenai Fjords Junior Ranger Badge. This program is best suited for ages 4-12, and it's a great way to learn more about the place you are visiting. You can also pick up an Explorer Journal from the visitor center, any ranger in the park, or on a park boat tour. Once you complete the required activities, turn it in to a ranger to earn your Kenai Fjords National Park Explorer Pin.
