Holgate Cabin Details
Holgate Cabin is a summer-use cabin on the Kenai coast. This cabin is open to the public during summer months, weather dependent (generally from Memorial Day to Labor Day). Reservations are required in advance for all public-use cabins; the reservations office can be reached at 877-444-6777. Reservations are available starting Jan. 15 for the coming year, though if you are making plans later in the year you should check on cancellations in April and May for any openings. The cabin costs $75 per night, and stays are limited to three nights per cabin for the season. Holgate Cabin is located on the Kenai coast and is only accessible by boat, float plane, water taxi, or by kayak for skilled paddlers. Visitors must arrange their own transportation. Drinking water is not available, so guests should bring a sufficient amount for their stay or be prepared to treat water from a surface source. Pets are not allowed in public-use cabins, with the exception of service dogs. This cabin is equipped with a propane heater and fuel, table, chairs, and wooden bunks to sleep up to six people. The cabin does not have electricity, running water, or mooring buoys on the bay. Guests should bring drinking water and or treatment equipment, human-waste disposal kits, bedding or sleeping pads, a cook stove, utensils, toilet paper, and food.
