Lassen has eight campgrounds for those looking to spend the night under the stars. Of these campgrounds, four are reservable and four are first-come, first-served. Sites are available for $6 per night. All group sites and stock corrals require reservations. Each campsite has a picnic table, a fire ring equipped with a grill, and a metal bear box for food storage. RV campers should note that there are no hookups in the park, but there is a dump station near Manzanita Lake. Three tents, six people, and two vehicles is the maximum amount allowed at each campsite. Group sites can accommodate between 10 and 25 people and six vehicles. When camping, remember that Lassen is bear country, and food and scented items should be stored in the bear box at your site. Pets are welcome in park campgrounds; however, they must be attended and on a leash not longer than 6 feet at all times. It is the owner's responsibility to clean up after pets. There is a camp store, showers, and laundry available near the Manzanita Lake Campground. There are eight campgrounds in Lassen. Most operate in the summer and fall, with opening and closing dates determined in large part by snowfall and snowmelt. Only the Southwest Walk-In Campground stays open year-round. If you're not looking to tent it, but still want a rustic overnight experience in the park, check out the Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins, located on the north side of the Manzanita Lake campground.
