Activities
While some of the longer, more strenuous tours at Wind Cave National Park do not allow children, there are many cave tours that are perfect for kids, such as the Garden of Eden tour and the Natural Entrance Tour. Kids are also welcome to participate in the park's Adventure in Nature program, geared towards children ages three through 12. Kids are grouped according to age and get to explore the park, go for a hike, and do crafts and other activities geared towards a daily theme, such as "Wild About Weather," and "Exploring the Past." Children can also participate in the park's Junior Ranger program or online Web Ranger program. For the Junior Ranger program, pick up a booklet at the visitor center and fill out the pages throughout your visit to earn a Junior Ranger badge. At Black Hills National Forest, families can attend the Moonwalk Program, a daily schedule of activities geared towards introducing visitors to the cultural and scientific history of the Black Hills. Parents can also purchase Junior Forest Ranger booklets for their kids to work on during their visit.
