Activities
Wind Cave National Park rangers lead a variety of cave tours on a daily basis, from the strenuous Wild Cave Tour and Fairgrounds Tour to the shorter Garden of Eden Tour. Most tours are available on a first-come first-served basis, though some are available for reservation. From June through early August, Wind Cave rangers also lead campfire programs on a regular basis. These take place from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Elk Mountain Campground amphitheater and cover a range of topics, from plant and wildlife to history and geology. During July, the program also includes a special night hike to observe prairie dogs and ferrets. Rangers also lead Discovery Talks on the front lawn outside the visitor center.
