Minidoka Internment National Historic Site, Idaho

More than 9,000 Japanese-Americans were uprooted and involuntarily moved to the Minidoka War Relocation Center in south-central Idaho during World War 2 -- part of a government policy in response to fears of Japanese sabotage on the U.S. West Coast.
